Link Love: Busted Edition

by Ryan on January 28, 2011

This week, a dozen of my friends and classmates from high school were in court after being busted at a party with alcohol. This is the biggest news story to hit our school district since the time our (former) middle school principal was caught at an adult “theater”. So you know it’s big. At this point, they’re “working with the prosecutor to determine a punishment”, according to the news.

Just when you think you live in the most boring town in America….

This Week’s Roundup:

My Post, People Forget About Their Roth IRAs All The Time Right?, was included in the 293rd Carnival of Personal Finance – Fun With Finance Edition hosted by Living Richly On a Budget

Should I Get An Accounting Degree @ BripBlap – Amazing/creepy timing on this once, since I’m considering switching my major to accounting. Or possibly double-majoring.

Would You Like to Buy a $75,000 Ford Expedition @ Budgeting In the Fun Stuff – Car debt annoys me because there are so many things I’d rather do with $300 per month. If possible, I hope I can pay for all my cars in cash. Even if I have to borrow for 1, I know I won’t end up borrowing anywhere close to what this individual did!

Financial Documents: Keep, Scan, or Shred @ Bargaineering – I hate storing paper documents of…anything, but especially financial papers. You can never find them when you need ‘em and definitely don’t want to lose track of documents with private info. I scan as much as I can.

What is a Credit Score? The Complete Guide to Understanding “Your Number” @ Money Under 30 – One of the most in depth and informative articles on what a credit score represents I’ve ever read.

Moving Back in with Your Parent’s During a Financial Crisis @ Diva In Debt – While the circumstances are unfortunate, there’s a lot of emotion in this post and I love when people “put themselves out there” and talk about their money situation, even when it’s not glamorous.

Have a great weekend everybody! Don’t get busted, :)

Thanks so much for including my post! Car debt annoys me too…we even zeroed out our main savings account last year just to be car debt free 3 years early. Now we only have to get rid of the mortgage…6 years to go…
