It might just be me, but September flew by. Lots was going on so let’s see how it affected my finances.
Assets
Checking: $1,171, down $15 from last month. I’ve been trying to keep checking right around $1,000 and it seems to be working so far.
Savings: $6,803, up $4,434 from August. This increase is really deceptive because almost all of it is due to my student loan refund. I’ll use this money for school expenses when necessary.
Liabilities
Student loans: $6,279, up from $276 last month. Whoa! This is what student loans do to your finances. This number will be getting bigger for the next 4 years unless something awesome happens.
Overall
Net Worth: $524
I’ll see how things go, but I think I can keep my net worth positive until the next quarter, when more of my student loans are disbursed. I estimate I’ll be making $300 a month from work, and saving at least some of that shouldn’t been too difficult.
